Halloween - What I believe.

This week I shared a picture on Facebook opposing Halloween and I got a large number of comments. Some of them were good and some were bad. It was interesting that some thought I was wrong to oppose Halloween. The pictures seems to have been moved from my Facebook page or deleted! Some thought it was terrible that I would not let young people have some fun. I find it disappointing that some "Christians" partake in this celebration.

Why does society become obsessed with death, witches, vampires etc at this time of the year?

Why do people have different opinions on this subject? I would suggest that there are 2 possible reasons.
  1. They do not have all the facts.
  2. They do not have the same world view.
Firstly I would like to present you with the facts. One of the best sources of information of this subject can be found via http://www.logosresourcepages.org/Holidays/halloween.htm

Check out some facts about Halloween.

What type of world view have you? Are you looking through mans eyes or through the Holy Scriptures? As a Christian I take my instruction from the scripture. Take a look at the following verses.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

As Christians we are told to "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
